Ellinor has signed for the global music management agency IMG Artists where she will be managed by artist manager Maarit Kangron.

IMG Artists is delighted to have signed Jamaican violinist Ellinor D’Melon, who turned 17 this December, for General Management. Ellinor will be managed by Artist Manager Maarit Kangron out of the company’s London office.
Ellinor said: “It is a great privilege for me to be joining the IMG Artists family and working with the wonderful Bridget Canniere and Maarit Kangron. I am delighted to continue my musical adventure and bring to a larger audience the beauty of classical music, my greatest passion.”
Maarit adds: “I am delighted to start working with such a vibrant and talented young violinist. Ellinor is at a very exciting stage of her career and I am looking forward to us working together to build her artistic future.”
Ellinor D’Melon was born to Cuban parents in Jamaica and started to learn the violin at the age of two, giving her first recital when just three years of age. Still only sixteen, she has performed widely, including under the baton of respected maestros including, among others, Zubin Mehta, Vladimir Spivakov, Jaime Martin, and Zakhar Bron. Concert engagements have taken her to many prestigious concert halls, such as the Berliner Philharmonie, Mariinsky Theatre Concert Hall, National Auditorium in Madrid, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Cologne Philharmonie, Tonhalle Zurich, Sala Verdi Milano, Baltic Hall in Gdansk, and many others. Most recently, she performed with the Gavle Symphony Orchestra in Sweden with Jaime Martin.
Her recent competition successes have included taking 1st Prize in the ‘Debut Berlin’ international competition (2017 Berlin Philharmonie), 1st Prize and special award for Best Interpretation of Contemporary Russian Piece in the VIII Novosibirsk International Competition (2016, Russia), and the 1st Prize in the International Wieniawski Competition for Young Violinists (2012, Poland).
